Video problems?
I have tried, without sucess, for 3 days to install Solaris 10 on my computer. The problem arises when booting for the first time after installation. No matter what settings I have in the video driver selection menu, all I get is a blank screen and a floating warning on my screen stating "out of range". I'm assuming that this is because I'm running a chaintec volari V3 videocard. I have run MANY different Unix os's including Mandriva, Suse, Knoppix, Puppy, Corel, and others using the Vesa compatible video drivers, and when testing the configuration using that driver, the test screen comes up just fine.
I don't get an "out of range" error until bringing up the login screen. If that makes any difference. I do not understand in any way how this system works, and I do not wish to have to revert back to using the GeForce 4000 16bit Vid Card. (the only other VGA vid card I have.)
I do not know how to tell you guys any more information than this. If need be, I can try logging in under failsafe, but I don't know how to do anything there because the only thing I get is a Prompt, and I tried using man -k, --help, nothing like that works.
Thank you for your time,
Hellion Darklord
