Software Update ?

Hi,

I have a system using Solaris 9 which is currently hosting Oracle 10g Release 1. I need to upgrade the Oracle software to Oracle 10g Release 2.

Unfortunatelly the newer version of oracle requires Solaris 9 Update 6 or later.

This is where I am lost :(.

How can I know what update level is currently on the system?

Where and how can I find the latest update for my Solaris 9?

I have searched through sun website and it has made me confused between patches and update. It only mention about patches.

I am new to Solaris administration, so I wish to seek your advice.

Cheers,

Joel

cat /etc/release to get your update.

It will say something like Solaris 9 09/04 and then look after the underscore and then you will see the update number.. something like _u6.

I think you can't go wrong with using Solaris 9 09/05 if you want it for 10g.

HTH!!
