Help me to recover Solaris 9.

Hi Experts,One of the developer, deleted all the files in /bin directory on Sun Server/Solaris 9. Now, I have to recover, what is th way to recover bin content.Please advice you great help here.THanks in advance,Cheers,Rajesh

If you have a backup, that's going to be your best bet.
Second option would be to rebuild the system, if /bin is gone, I would presume that the box is pretty much a paper weight at the moment.
To prevent this in the future, take root privilages away from anyone that doesnt need to be root. Would make issues like this less common.

/bin IIRC is a symlink to /usr/bin. Have you checked to see whether only the symlink has been deleted (or has entire /usr/bin been deleted)?implicate_order at 2007-7-6 22:54:49 >
