Screensaver fails on Sun JDS on Solaris 10

Hello all,

I have installed Solaris 10 on my Pentium IV 2.0 GHX server.

I am running 4 sunrays and around 6 users.

Works fine and everything except that any user account that is at user rights cannot use screensavers and consequently cannot lock their machines/ rays!

Root can do it fine but no users,

The users get an error whne they log on saying that xscreensaver not found, no such directory and the icon disappears from the launch menus!

Also, does any one by any chance know of a good media player for solaris 10 x86? JHava media player always locks up during playback

what might be the issue?

regards,

jason

I faced the same issue after creating the /.profile file for the root user, and xlock wasn't working.

Issue was solved after modifying the value of PATH in .profile, (or intialization file in the user's home directory)

I don't remember which path exactly solved the problem though.

This worked with me, but iam not sure if it will work with you because it might be another problem.

Thanks.
