You might want to try using a commercial data recovery software such as StompSoft's Recover Lost Data (http://www.stompsoft.com/recoverlostdata.html) I have used this on many occasions on my XP OS with great success. You could try downloading the demo and see if it can retrive what you need. At any rate, I would be intrested in hearing about the results; whether you were able to recover your files or not.

Franky,

Will that application work in Solaris?

The original poster needs to work within a UFS filesystem, because that's where the data was.

(not NTFS, not FAT32, but UFS or perhaps even an encapsulated and mirrored Veritas filesystem)

I see no mention of Solaris or UNIX filesystems on that company's web site.

... or are you using your first forum post to advertise the product?

No, I was just trying to be helpful. I didn't realize all of the nuances of this particular OS. I guess in the future I'll try to do more thinking and be less helpful.Franky

Hi,

i think you should use a specialized data recovery tool for Solaris.

I know about Kenel Recovery for Solaris. You can check it out at http://www.nucleustechnologies.com

They provide two different software for solaris data recovery

1. Recovery for Intel Based Sun Solaris

2. 1. Recovery for SPARC based Sun Solaris

I think that helps.

Hello,

I suggest you use EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard to recover files.

Download demo version: http://www.easeus.com/download.htm

You can use "DeletedRecovery" to scan your drive. After the scan is complete, the lost file will be displayed in Data Recovery Wizard, you can select them and recover them.

NOTICE: never install in on the harddisk you want to recover.
