home directories

hi everyone

plz someone tell me how can i recover my users home directories

this was in /export/home

actually wat happened i deleted one user account using SMC

wen i was deleting the account in the last i was asked

do u want to delete user home directory and mail directory

i thought it is only for this user so i deleted both

but wen i saw in /export/home there is nothing now

plz help me

any help highly appreicated

Hello.

A) Do NOT (or only read-only) mount the disk slice that "contains" the deleted data.

If you do not have separated system/user slices on your disk you'll have a problem doing so.

B) There are recovery tools for NTFS/FAT file systems that can do what you need. I know some internals of the UFS file system (Sparc and X86) and I think it is not difficult to write such a tool for UFS. For this reason I think it may be available anywhere on the market.
