Migrating Zones from 01/06 to 06/06

Hello!

We are running two machines with Solaris 10. One has the 01/06-release installed, the other the 06/06-release.

On the first machine (01/06) are several zones installed. Now I want to migrate these to the 06/06-machine.

My question: Is this possible without problems? Are future patches possible for the copied zones?

TIA

In general, no. The zones expect to be running on the "same" OS.

It also depends a great deal on full-root or sparse-root zones. I'd expect a few more things to work in a full-root zone.

While you might be able to copy and force things yourself, the tool to copy a zone into a machine will fail the attempt if the kernel/patch levels aren't identical.
