beginners question

When I try to install SOLARIS 10 in a dual OS config my installer hangs up almost immediately? Does anyone knows what it can be?

?I put the installer disk in dvd-rom

?Installer runs

?Complete lockup with just the letter a displayed on the screen.

Can I do dual boot? Solaris would be the active primary partition.

Can I use FAT32 as file system on install?

Can USB devices conflict like keyboard & mouse & printer?

Is this a laptop or normal PC, as your talking about fat32, so i guess this box was running MS Windows, check the multiboot docs. http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/features/articles/laptop_resources.html

You'll want to check the HCL (Hardware Compatability List) to be sure your hardware is supported.

I've had no success installing Solaris 10 on my home made AMD 64x2 desktop computer. The installer panics and dies. The hardware is obviously not supported.

I've been running Solaris 10 06/06 in a VMware virtual machine as an alternative for now.
