How to fix my connection

I am new to Solaris and Unix and I'd like to learn it. So I installed Solaris 10 in one of my boxes and it looked like my network card was recognized appropriately. I can ping my gateway and other machines (Win XP) in my home network can ping it as well.I've also set my dns (resolv.conf) to my ISP DNS IPs. But when I open the browser, I can't get out. My connection properties status says idle; and received and sent packets: 0. What do I still need to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello.Did you configure the gateway's IP address? The file /etc/defaultrouter must contain one line which is the IP address of the router or gateway. Example:echo 192.168.178.1 > /etc/defaultrouterMartin

Yes I did. The defaultrouter contains the IP address of my default gateway.
