Need a recommendation for a Server w/2 internal controllers

Hi, I have a V240 that I setup RAID 0+1 (4 disks) and then realized that there's only one controller. No wonder it's running my Oracle DB slowly. I'd like to buy a machine comperable in price to the V240 with 4 internal disks but I want two controllers so I can have disks 0 & 1 use C1 and disks 2 & 3 use C2.Does anyone have a machine recommendation? I'll probably install Solaris 9, but maybe Solaris 10.

Thanks

Steve

As far as I am aware none of the entry level servers support split bus configuration for internal mass storage. It is possible that the V445 supports this configuration, but I'll need to research it a bit more. The V445 supports Solaris 9 09/05 and there is a current offer for 20% discount to upgrade at sun.com.

Could you not save money and buy a photon for use with your existing server? You could install 2 HBAs and use it in split bus mode. For true redundancy however, you need 2 servers ideally in 2 locations. ;o)

Thanks. I think I'd rather go with bigger hardware and do it internally.Steve
