x4100 memory problem

I have a number of X4100 running Solaris 10.

Two of them have had their DIMMS failed (CPU0 DIMM1). I replaced al dimms and apparently one of boxes works fine now and one of them has failed again for the third time. Every time it is the very same slot that reports faulty dimm.

Is it known issue with x4100 boxes or just a hardware issue?

I've notice that during each boot system firmware error occurs, which I get from ipmitool sel list. Can this be related to memory problem?

Update the firmware to the latest revision (if you don't have the CD that came with the box, or it is too old, you can download the firmware from sun.com). The download will include a diagnostic tool which can be run on the memory to test it. I've found that the tool is excellent at finding bad components in these systems.

Memory issues are fairly common, and we've also had a motherboard replaced. But since then, everything works well.
