Configuring Raid on v40z and x4200 Servers

Hello folks, I have been asked to setup a couple of v40 and x4200 servers to use Windows 2003. Now I have gone through all the available documentation in regards to the OS installation, before I can get to this I need to how to configure RAID on these servers. I know the LSI supports Raid 1, but if there is an actual raid adapter installed that does various Raid levels, do the server tools come with a Raid configuration tool? or does something else have to be downloaded. Coming from an IBM/HP/Compaq Intel environment, I am somewhat of a fish out of water here. Can someone to the right location/document on how to setup RAID for these boxes. Thank you.

Regards

Terry

For the x4200, see Appendix E of the SunFire x4100/x4200 Service Manual, available on docs.sun.com.

Hopefully this will narrow it down a bit for you:

I recall setting up Linux on a Dell Intel server and there was a boot CD that came with the server that configured the on-board disk controller for you! I think this type of evironment makes you a bit lazy though - drop in the boot CD and then go back to sleep!
