Windows drivers for SUN Quad PCI card

Hi everyone.

With the risk of being flamed, I have a question regarding drivers for a Sun QUAD network card. I belive it is a X1034A card.

The card is also marked with a label saying: *5015406096836* and a barcode. On another label it sais: QFEPCI

Is there any chance in h**l that this card would function under a Windows system?

Best regards,

Johan Christensson

Hello Johan,

Sun doesn't provide Windows driver for this card, but maybe the (original) manufacturer IntraServer (a division of LSI Logic) does.

I own the IntraServer LSI5464E which appears to be 501-5406-01 (using the DC21153-AC which was on my card manufactured by Intel not DEC).

http://www.lsilogic.com/files/docs/marketing_docs/storage_stand_prod/habs/lsi54 64e.pdf

I couldn't locate the drivers for Windows, the Product Sheet (second link) mentions a LSI5464E-I for X86 (Intel) and Alpha platforms.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Actually, if you look at the bottom of the PDF that you gave me, it states that "Supported OS" and Windows, so it's properbly only a case that Windows is detecting the card as a Sun adapter based on PNPID, but that can be fixed.

Thanks again,

Dear Johan,

Did you manage to get this card working under Windows?

If yes, is it possible for me te get the Windows drivers from you?

I contacted LSI Support and they replied:

> The lsi5464e is EOL (End of Life). It has been EOL for several years.

> All downloads for this adapter were removed several years ago.

> There are NO archive files for the adapter.

> The adapter is no longer supported.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Hello Ben,

I own the IntraServer LSI5464E which appears to be 501-5406-01 (using the DC21153-AC which was on my card manufactured by Intel not DEC).

I was wrong, the 21153 is a PCI-t o-PCI Bridge chip by Intel. I thought it's similar to the DEC PCI Fast Ethernet DECchip 21140.

The 4 Ethernet controllers chips are manufactured by/for Sun.

The datasheet for the LSI5464E is still available, while the drivers aren't.
