Question on capacity on demand
HI All ,
We planning to migrate and consolidate our servers to a E25k .
Wondering by using capacity on demand option , if we can setup a domain with one uniboard fully activated with four CPU and another CPU board with only 2 CPU and its corresponding memory turn on which give you a total of six CPU and twelve cores
I really appreciate your help
Appreciate your help

I just want to make sure you fully understand COD especially with a E25K.
Firstly, here are no COD boards with only two CPU's. They are all 4 CPU boards. The only way you could have two CPU boards would be if you have a 15K. There are no IV or IV+ 2 CPU boards.
COD is primarily designed if you have a need to be able to DR in a board in hurry. When I say hurry, I mean in a few moments and you can't wait for a replacement board which should be in a couple of hours. In other words, they are a very expensive insurance policy. Why spend lots of money to have a COD board if you don't need them.
There are restrictions with COD boards. You just cant use them when you feel like it even though the Sales people might give you that suggestion. Once you use a COD board, you are expected to pay the difference in price immediately unless you are using it for emergencies. It is a matter of trust but I would not take the chance on using a COD board and not informing Sun.
25K's fit into a niche market and with the cost of them, there has to be a very good reason to use one for consolidation. There are not particularly quick so don't use them for major apps that chew CPU cycles (any Java based app).
Don't fall for the sales pitch from Sun without doing a major analysis on why you need to do what you want. Many people are going horizontal these days instead of going vertical.
So, if you are not in the telco, government or finance sectors, think twice about using them.
I did something really bad to a board in a 25k (idiot error while talking to someone) and I had the domain running again in one hour with other parts in the system. I would not use the COD board, I kicked users off a dev domain to use its boards and I/O.
