Patch 118263-19 applicable to Portal 2005q4

Hi

I have a situation where Sun Web Server 6.1 sp5, with Portal Server 2005q4

deployed, crashes in libns-httpd40.so up to 4 times a day.

I have found the following information in patch 118263-19:

5031606 Urlscraper channels cause webserver crash.

The patch documentation however states that it is security related fixes for an

earlier version:

6.3pc19 portal server 2004q2 security

Is this still applicable to Portal Server 2005q4?

I will be disabling the URLScraper channels in the mean time to see whether the

problem goes away.

Hi,

2005Q4 is different then 2004Q2, one is 6.3.1 and the other is 6.3. They have their own patch clusters, so you should ensure you only use the right patch cluster for version, I can't imagine the nasty effects otherwise :-)

In this case, if it's identified that that bugID is what your seeing in 2005Q4, make sure your SE/Support contact sets an escalation path to get this into 6.3.1. I believe this is supposed to happen automatically, so issues found in earlier versions are tested on later versions and incorporated if need be.

- 118950 sparc or 118951 x86 is the 2005Q1 & 2005Q4 patch id to consider, so watch for this bugfix to appear in these clusters.
