what should I do to set up the display profile?

I installed the portal server 7 and I am trying to create a new desktop for a new org I created in the access manager.

I tried to use the portal server console to download the toplevel's dp and modified it and upload for the new org..but failed to set up the desktop for the new org... each time I try to download the top level's dp, it gave me a diff name though the contents are the same.

I am new to display profile and i can't find the details about how to set up the display profile for the new desktop, can anyone give me some instructions on how to do it?

these are the procedures I did for the new org:

1.create a new org in access manager

2.create a user in the org

3.in portal server console, add the new channels and containers to the org. i added a login provider

4. add an anonymous for the org in the toplevel

5. download the toplevel's profile by typing *.dp in the download display profile page (<is this correct?) it gave me a file named "CAJM0ZV5"

6. upload this "CAJM0ZV5" as the dp for the new org in the portal server console.

7. try to access the portal desktop using the anonymous usr

8. error msg :

"A serious error has occured in the Desktop. This may have been caused by a mis-configuration on the server.

Please report this problem to your administrator.

Possible cause:

You do not have permission to access the desktop"

anyone can give me some help? thanks a lot ..

According the message, it seems the users don't have access to the desktop. They must have the "Portal Desktop" service. This is done in the Access Manager Console.

To create a desktop for an organisation, you can do it directly in the PS console by creating new containers and channels without downloading and uploading DP :

go to the PSConsole then choose your portal. In the desktop tab select your organization (select DN), then "Manage Containers and channels...
