AJAX Select Value Text Field

I would like to use an AJAX Select Value Text Field to display a drop down list of names from a database table. I read the contents of the other posts on this topic but none of them provided me with the code I have to put in the selectValue1_matchValue method.

Could any of you give me a clue of how to code this method using a dataProvider.
