Ubuntu Studio Creator 2 Update 1 Derby database issues

I am getting an error any time SC attempts to fire up an instance of the derby database. I try to start it from the servers section, but it does not fire up and does not give any errors.

Anyonen got SC running with derby on Ubuntu linux 6.06 (dapper)?

Hi Douglas,

I'm glad you posted your error. I think Sun may have a problem. I am getting the same error. But, I am running Win XP/SP2.

The first time I installed SC2U1, I could not expand the Travel Data Source and I tried to start the Bundled Database Server.

The cmd window came up briefly and then closed. The install process had completed OK.

I uninstalled SC2U1 and reinstalled it. Derby came up along with the Travel node. I shut down my machine and when SC2U1 came back up

Derby would not start and I got your error for the Connection status for Travel.

Subsequently, I shut the machine down and restarted SC2U1 and the Derby cmd window came up and stayed up. The cmd message was

"Server is ready to accept connections on port 21527." But, the Database Bundled Server node showed that it was stopped and trying to start

it brought up a new Derby cmd window briefly. And, my original Derby cmd window had the following messages:

"Connection number: 1."

"Connection number: 2." etc.
