Using Tables

i've got a table with 5 columns. The table is bound to a database and so is filled with data (of 10 rows). One of the columns holds a button (an edit button) and the other four are text fields (all set to read only). When i press the edit button i want one of the fields, say in column four to become editable. Can anyone help/advise me how to do this.
