NetBeans IDE 5.0 installation on XP SP2

I have tried installing Java several times and I have yet to have an installation that is functional. The most recent is was the NetBeans IDE 5.0 installation on Windows XP SP2. The results have always been the same... No errors during installation but after launching the App., it appears that I don't have enough memory. I just end up with an empty window and I can't do anything else.

What am I doing wrong?

This is NetBeans IDE 5.0 System Requirements:

http://www.netbeans.org/community/releases/50/relnotes.html#system_requirements

It shoudl work fine for this config:

# Microsoft Windows operating systems:

* Processor: 500 MHz Intel Pentium III workstation or equivalent

* Memory: 384 megabytes

* Disk space: 125 megabytes of free disk space

Is your PC config lower than this?
