Overflow scroll bar and table component

I have created a portlet and deployed it in Jetspeed 2, with a simple dropdown and table and I have bound it to a database. In Mozilla, the data is shown properly within the space of the portlet and when the data becomes larger and the size exceeds the portlet, vertical and horizontal scroll appear and the data can be still viewed. I have placed overflow: auto in the div tag. My issue is that I have selected that my table show 3 rows at a time, so when I click on the next page button or any of the table control buttons like the paginate or go button, the scroll bar resets itself to the top of the portlet and I have to click again to see the next rows of data in the table. This happens only when there are scroll bars on the portlet. Any ideas, what is causing it. Its not much of a problem, but it definitely looks like a UI bug. Has anyone faced this problem. Please help.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

Ps: This problem is not there in Internet Explorer

Have you tried your concept with out a portlet environment and see if that happens in Mozilla. What version of Firefox you are using? Not sure if this is a Mozilla browser issue. Please check Mozilla bugs listing and see if any such issue reported,
