Hi,
If this happened under Windows XP
- uninstall it,
- delete its installation folder and its settings under the C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\.Creator folder,
- and run the installer again.
Make sure your antivirus/firewall permits java to run, open network connections and listen on specific ports (for the application server).
If this was a solaris/linux problem check if all packages are installed, specially for the application server.
Check the installation logs for errors.
Good luck!
I have done this a dozen times now with different programs turned off just in case that was problem. I have also re-downloaded the install file three times to make sure my install executable is not corrupt. The IDE still does not start. I am using Window XP with all service packs installed and updates. I have a dual P4 with 1GB of RAM. There should be no reason for it not to start. I can get Creator 2 to work, but not Creator 2 update 1.
Hi,
I have also installed "Sun Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1" but the IDE dosenot open it.
I also have the "Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8.1" on the same machine and i have no problem opening it.
I am working on WinXP SP2, and have java 1.5 installed.
Can any one please help me in opening the IDE.
thanks
Hi,
Make sure your server also gets uninstalled along with Creator2_1 and you have downloaded Creator2_1 from Sun Micro. (recent Sun Micro distributed free CD's at Hyderabad seem not working).
try the .pdf here (careful about registry stuff here which I have not tried):
