creator 2 update 1 install error on Debian

I have a debian system running the 2.6.15-1-k7 kernel. When I tried to install Creator 2 I eventually get the message that compat-libstc++ and compat-libstdc++-devel not installed. I found an RPM file for Redhat 3 and Fedora 2. After installing it and trying to reinstall Creator 2 I still get the same message.

Can anyone help?

Try installing libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 and libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2-dev from apt-get. This works at least for Ubuntu.

This a common question. Is it listed in a FAQ or knowledge base?

Hope this helps

Antonio.
