can this patch just be applied (in single user mode), and then the machine/services restarted? do the post patch scripts need to be run, if the cofig is not changing?

also - on one machine where there wasn't enough space to patchadd with the d option, i received errors like:

Installation of <xxx> was suspended (administration). No changes were made to the system.

this after attempting to patchadd w/ the -d option. which i didn't have enough space for.

i had to answer with 'y' a bunch of times and it seemed to install some things ...

No need for "single user mode:".Just stop the messaging Server,.

Yes, you MUST run the post-install parts. There is more than "configuration", this is where we compare the javascrip/html files, and replace them.

If you don't have enough space to patch, then the patch was NOT fully installed. Please make space, and retry.

thanks - it went smoothly the third time, post patch too, after i made space on /var - i removed the files in /var/opt/SUNWam/debug (among other log files) - what are these files? they were big.thanks,s7

SUNWam is Access Manager.debug logging was apparently enabled at some point, perhaps you had some Access Manager issues? Instant timeout in Ce, perhaps?
