incremental backup/restore

Hi,I have Sun Java msging 2005Q4 running on solaris 10.Could we achieve incremental backup / restore single mailbox/whole store with imsbackup / imsrestore OR Is there any other way?TIAPraveen RK

Hi Praveen,

The imsbackup command allows you to make incremental backups using the "-d" flag :

-d datetime : "Date from which messages are to be backed up, expressed in yyyymmdd[:hhmmss]; for example, -d 19990501:131000 would backup messages stored from May 1, 1999 at 1:10 pm to the present. The default is to back up all the messages regardless of their dates."

This option can be used when backing up individual mailstores etc. During restore you will have to obviously restore a full backup and any incrementals made to get the entire mailbox back - standard backup/restore procedures.

As usual, always test this before using in production.
