Changing IP on an MMP box?

We are revamping our loadbalancer infrastructure and it would make life easier if we could move our MMP boxes onto different IPs.

Currently we have 2 MMP boxes with pop, imap and uwc offered to users - how easy is it to change the ips on these machines? (not at the solaris level - I know that bit :)). I'm worried that the ips are burnt in places that are non-obvious.

I believe that cal server has some entries for DWP - any others to be wary of? Will the admin server need updating in someway (the one that is accessed from the Java server console app).

Someone must have done this :)

If it is likely to be a whole lot of grief then I'll leave them where they are and engineer the new network around them but it'd be better if they can be painlessly shifted.

Currently running:

root@msgproxyintb# ./imsimta version

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-6.01 (built Apr 3 2006)

libimta.so 6.2-6.01 (built 11:20:35, Apr 3 2006)

SunOS msgproxyintb 5.9 Generic_118558-28 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210

if it makes any difference.

Cheers,

Darren

I don't believe MMP actually cares about the local ip address.MEM shouldn't either. For Messaging Server, only the Admin Server really cares, and the MTA needs to be adjusted in the mappings file.

Can you move one, change IP address on MMP, than change load balancer, than move other? We tried once that and it worked, but we had to change some configuration due to MTA address change (some strange issues with load balancer)
