I don't have any idea of a way for users to know that.

There are command-line tools to let the admin know who's logged in, but not users. I'm assuming you're talking about logging into webmail.

I'm more than a little confused about exactly what you're asking for, though.

Notification of when you have incoming mail isn't something that the server does, except through SMS service, normally done through text phones and such. Most mail clients check for mail....

Perhaps if you re-state what you're looking for, I can be more helpful.

Hi Jay, thnks for your response, my requirement is exactly same as yahoo messenger. whenever user(x) logged in user(y) will be notified saying that user(x) has logged in and also when user(x) is logged in idle for some time, he will be notifed saying that he got mail in his mail inbox. I want how these happens and what functionality is used here.

If you send solution it will be great for me.

thnks

suresh

Are you by chance, talking about Instant Messages, not Messaging Server? IM or e-mail?I know about e-mail servers, not Instant Messaging stuff....

It looks to me like he's asking for some sort of "Presence" feature. Sort of like Outlook with the MSN Messenger plugin, or Lotus Notes with the sametime plugin.

I haven't be able to play with this much, but I believe the JES Portal server can do this with the IM stuff, but I am not aware of any IM plugin for Messenger Express.

That would be cool, however.... how do I submit a feature request? :)

Feature requests are done the same way bug reports are done. Throug tech support.Sometimes, a posting to the ims-info list ( http://arnold.com) will get the attention of one of the developers...
