Active Directory Configuration
Hi,
I need to configure AD, but the problem is there are two domains and need to configure to the two domains. Actually I am wondering where do I need to install the Gateway. I got a similar topic in this forum but I am confused.
for eg:
I have test1 and test2 domains running on two different machines. How would I know, which is the domain controller. On which machine do I need to install the Gateway.
please give some ideas.

The Gateway needs to be installed on a server that is a member of the domain i.e. if you are provisioning to test1, then install the Gateway on a server in the test1 domain. The Gateway Windows service has to run as a domain user.

my requirement is I need to provision to both the domains..
i.e. test1 domain (maintains normal accounts) and test2 domain (maintains accounts with some admin previeleges). in this scenerio, on which server I need to install the Gateway.
hope you understand, otherwise I am missing any information.

hi dortmund_developer,
do the two domains say test1 and test2 have trust relationship? if so then you should be able to install the gateway on either of the system and provision to BOTH the domains.
If not, then it's like you have two different Directory resources. In that case you can install gateway on each system and configure seperate resource in IDM for each with different "Host" attribute.
Also note that it is not necessary to install the gateway on the server only. It can be on any system in the domain.
