webserver/amconsole - Authentication failed error! Argh!

Ok, I am trying to setup JES line for line based on these installation instructions: http://docs.sun.com/source/819-4879/

The system is a new Sun Fire x2200 M2 w/4GB RAM and Solaris 10u2 (06/06), no patches yet, fresh build with Cluster "SUNWCreq" and additional packages listed at the bottom of this post.

I have followed these instructions to a "T" no less than six times and I also get the same problem. I have done the installation with a STATEFILE, command line, GUI, you name it.

When I get to the verify the Installation steps, I start the directory server and then stop and start the webserver as noted, I then go to the webpage http://mywebpage/amconole and get the login. However, when I put in the 'amadmin' and the password, I get a "Failed Authentication error" I can not figure this out. Someone please help, I'm trying to replace OpenSource software with this, but it's not looking promising, I have to get this project completed.

Here is a tail from my /var/opt/SUNWam/logs/amAuthentication.access & /var/opt/SUNWam/logs/amAuthentication.error logs.....

Ok, well I tried to install it with the cluster SUNWCXall and it worked!

Sooo.... Apparently there is a dependency in the base Solaris install that isn't checked during JES 2005Q4 installation. Now the question is what is it?

I hate to do a FULL install of the os (more to patch). I'm a believer of minimal install's, but they sure do make for things like this to be difficult.

Thanks for any input you guys can provide!
