Hi Umar,

I've managed to get sconadm to work with a fairly minimal setup.

Packages that seem to be relevant that I have (but you don't) are:

SUNWsensorr SUNWscnsomr SUNWppro-plugin-sunos-base

I'm not convinced that all the packages I have are really necessary,

but there's a few that you have that I don't have - you might need

these for other things, but I don't think you need them for sconadm

and smpatch to work, although if you want the Update Manager

GUI you might need them:

SUNWctpls SUNWxwfnt SUNWxwplr SUNWupdatemgru SUNWupdatemgrr

Cheers,

Steve.

Hello Umar,

It is unclear as to whether or you have been able to register this system. Please can you run the following command:

/usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/ccr -g cns.assetid

If this machine is registered then this should return an assetid.

With regards to the your question pertaining to smpatch.:

(i) smpatch analyze - This command analyses a system to generate a list of the appropriate patches.

(ii) smpacth update - This command updates a single local or remote system by applying appropriate patches.

However for more information regarding the various smpatch options please refer to the smpatch man pages.

Hello Umar,

When you register a system be it with or without a subscription key / contract number, an assetid will be created.

The command below:

# /usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/ccr -g cns.assetid

Calls the assetid of system. If the system has been register sucessfully then this will return an assetid (as below):

-796212072

Please can you run the following command and return the output generated:

# smpatch analyze

You should be able to get a few clues from:# egrep -i 'swup|patch' /var/adm/messages/var/sadm/[patchnumber]/logPatch information can be found at: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patchpage

Please post the following information so we can see the setup of your machine:

$ cat /etc/release

$ cat /var/sadm/system/admin/CLUSTER

$ java -version

$ showrev -p | egrep -e '121453|121118|120335|121081|121563|122231|119788'

$ /usr/lib/cc-ccr/bin/ccr -g cns.assetid

$ smpatch get

$ smpatch analyze

And the output from the sconadm command.
