A list of the return codes from the patching tools can be found in infodoc #17889 on sunsolve.
Having said that there is a bug open currently for a Solaris 10 issue where it reports error code of 1 (usage error) when it should return 2 (already patched with this or a higher revision of this patch) and I suspect this is the issue you are seeing. Obviously you can check whether this is the case for the patches which you received an error for.
I did the 10_recommended patch today and almost all of the currently installed patches had a return code of 1 - even the 118833-24 patch, which was already installed. I am of the impression that only return codes of 2 or 8 can be ignored. A return code of 1 (usage error) would indicated something may be wrong with the patch - not the patcher and the procedures.
If you're having difficulties with the recommended patch cluster you may wish to post your queries in the Sol 10 forum as this forum deals specifically with the Sun UC , PM and Patchpro toolsets and not with the patch cluster or the patches themselves. Someone over there should be able to assist you better than we could if your having difficulties or have questions.
