CAPS Installation under root or a user

Does anybody now wether the CAPS Installation under UNIX can be done under a normal user or must it be root ?Thanks in Advance and Best Regards, Olaf Kasper

hi kasper,normally it does not depend on any root rights!we always instull under eGate/ICAN/CAPS users non having any root access.regards chris

Chris is correct. Installing and running the software does not require root privileges unless you are using ports <1024 or needing to set up the rc scripts for automatically starting/stopping the software a boot/shutdown time.

Yes it's not required any special permissions to install on Unix / Linux environmnt unless you install it on a clustered environment.
