Outlook Connector and Address Book Server

I am trying to use the Outlook connector to setup profiles, but we are not using an Address Book Server. I am using version 7.1.222.4 of the sun java system connector for outlook.

When i try to leave the field blank for the address book server address on Servers tab I am warned that this field cannot be blank, but it compiles the executable file. When I run the file, it does not add the profile correctly.

Next, I tried adding a bum value, it compiles without complaints, but each time the user opens their outlook, it prompts them for login credentials, and will work after failing a couple times.

Is there a way to use the connector and not use an address book server without prompting my users each time they open outlook?

Thanks,

Robert Ivey

There has been an RFE kicking around for some time about having an option to configure the connector to either use the ABS or the local file for a users Personal Address Book.

RFE: 6206267

Unfortunately, this has no current implementation date so I cannot say if/when such an RFE might be implemented. Currently you have to point the Connector at the ABS.

I'm having the same problem. Not only is it annoying, but you can't save a contact locally, only to the addressbook server, which we don't have.
