Freezing Java Applications

Every time I run any Java application ony my computer I experience extreme system slowdowns and occasional crashes. The computer freezes up for seconds at a time before brief activity etc.The problem disappears if the Java applet is closed.

My usual fix for a java problem is to rewrite the application in C. If your app is on Windows try Solaris. If your app is on Solaris, try Windows. If neither of those work, try CP/M.Since you give no information, other than "it don't work", this is the best I can do.
