Where is Sun Microsystems Support - SUNWexplo script?

Hi folks,

First post here. I have a HP background and now am working with Solaris. Anyway, I was asked to find and download the Sun Microsystem Support package which contains the SUNWexplo script. For those who do not know what the script does, it basically collects all system information so this can be used to document our servers and enable us to rebuolt servers when a crash occurs.

I have looked on the SunSolve website, and cannot see to find this package. Anyone know where it is located?

Also, I presume this SUNWexplo script will work on a Solaris 9 OS?

Thanks!

http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-82329-1SUNWexplo is not a script -- it's a Sys-V package that contains the various scripts and rules that collects system related data. Check out the url pasted above. this is off the first page from sunsolve.

Thanks! I got it with the link you gave me.

just one thing, how in the heck did you manage to do the search fopr this and come up with this? I did a search with Explorer and came up with alot of updates or whatever, never got the actual doc explaining what the Explorer does.

Anyway, thanks from my corner of the world!

... for others that may come across this thread in the future ...

Go to Sun's corporate web site:

http://www.sun.com

Then click on "Support"

which will get you to the SunSolve web site.

Scroll down the page to the section that's labelled Diagnostic Tools,

and see the link for Explorer.

... I happen to have the link memorized in an abbreviated fashion as Sunsolve-slash-Explorer,

so if I type sunsolve.sun.com/explorer into my browser, I get to the correct link.
