We have a customer with Sun Management Center 3.5.1b, the alert with sending message was configured, then they are process by Patrol to send messages by e-mail or/and SMS. We have a requirement for our customer: It's important to reduce the size of the unfolded message. In order to solve this part:
- We need to know the messages that can send SMC and
- It's possible to customize this messages?

If you're using the SunMC->BMC integration from Halcyon (http://www.halcyoninc.com/products/AdapterPEM/index.php) then you can alter the message within the HALAdapterPEM-trap.sh utility before it gets forwarded to Patrol.
If you'd prefer to send the email/SMS directly from SunMC, then you can control the fields and content of the messages in the EventAction control panel (http://www.halcyoninc.com/products/EventAction/help/HALEventAction-adding-h.ht ml#HALEventAction-adding-information)... or by altering the email util in the same way you'd change the Patrol version.
If you're using the legacy integration from BMC, then you'd probably have to give the Patrol people a call.. that software was written a bit before my time.
