SMC Alarms email

If you are looking to enable global alarm routing (via email or whatever) you should also check out Halcyon's EventAction (v2.2. released this week).

Among other things it enables a couple of key features:

1) Global Events. For instance you could add the following two rules in a couple of minutes:

-- Email Alert Message #2 to Bob and Jim for any server in Subnet B when disk usage is over 85% from 9AM-5PM Mon-Fri

-- Page w/ Alert Message #3 and Email Steve for any 15 load average over 1.0 from servers A, B & C from 5PM onwards Friday, all day Sat, Sun and Mon till 8AM.

2) All events happen on the Server. No point of failure at the agent sendmail daemon. No need for agent connectivity to DMZ, or Internet to get notifications out.
