Cobalt Qube 3 Pro - What OS is installed?

Hi there,

I've been given the task to try and get SubVersion (CVS Server) installed on our Cobalt Qube 3 Pro.

We connect to our Qube via Telnet and can deal with most situations, such as running preinstalled software such as Fetchmail etc.

Since I do not know what is installed, guessing that it is unix based, we are unable to select the correct package from

http://subversion.tigris.org/project_packages.html

to download and install.

The Qube is factory fresh, no third party packages have been installed.

Can someone help me with finding the correct package or telling what os is actually installed on these? Red Hat, Freebsd, Solaris etc?

Apart from the Web Interface is there a GUI that can be access remotely on these? Such as Remote Desktop?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Kind regards

TIA

Gavin

http://www.sun.com/hardware/serverappliances/discontinued.htmlProbably you cannot install recent CVS from binary packages, but building from sources works (at least for me).

The Qube 3s are running a customized version of Red Hat Linux (using the 2.2 Linux kernel).

You'll probably have to get familiar with a Linux command line to add other apps to your Qube - there is no default GUI admin tool for Linux.

I've upgraded mySQL to 4.0x, and installed the Tomcat 5.0.28 app server on my Qube 3 too.

If you Google "Qube 3" you'll find several sites with some good tech tips and/or install packages tailored for the Qube series.

I would think you could get CVS (or Subversion) running on a Qube without too much difficulty.
