Disks for SE3510 FC
Hi All,
I don't know whether i can use disk (p/n: X6713A) for SE3510FC to replace the existing disk with same size 73.4GB failed or Not ?.
However, i know that the above mentioned disk has the different part# than disks supported by Sun list but it has the same disk model supported by Sun (Seagate 373405FC).I not dare to test this in a production evironment.
Anyone experienced this , pls let me know.
Thanks.

Hi Elain,
When you do a show disk in the 3510, does it display the ST373405FC? If it does, then it may be worth trying.
However, I had a look at the system handbook and could not find the disk mentioned in the 3510FC area. Considering that the brackets are completely different to start with and I can't find any reference in the handbook to say they are compatable, I definitely would not risk it, especially if you have a contract with Sun. But then again, if you did, you would not be considering this.
The T3/T3B and 3900/6900 are completely different systems as the 3510 which are made by DotHill.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Stephen,
Sorry for replying you so late on this issue as i just came back from my business trip.
No, it doesn't, it displays SEAGATE ST373307FSUN72G when i ran show configuration command under sclli CLI.
Yes, you are right we should not try to catch up risks withs disk in this case, it's completely different from disks for SE3510FC recommened by Sun at handbooks.Anyway, thanks for your helps.
Cheers
Elain.
