Installing Firefox on Solaris 10

Hi,

I need some guidance installing Firefox on Solaris 10.

I have downladed and unpacked the files to /usr/mike

This has created a Firefox folder.

I cd into Firefox and ran ./firefox

The browser started and all works fine.

The only way I can run this is from the terminal in the same way.

Questions:

Have I installed this correctly?

How can I run Firefox by clicking on a icon?

Thanks

I don't know about JDE/Gnome, but in CDE clicking on the 'globe/clock' icon launches netscape by default.

To override the default, I set

BROWSER=/opt/firefox/firefox ; export BROWSER

in my .profile file in my home directory, and log in again.

I guess your entry would be

BROWSER=/usr/mike/firefox ; export BROWSER

cheers
