Crash on mozilla 1.4/Solaris 9

I used the WebStart installer.

Here's a cut n paste from my shell window:

bash-2.05$ mozilla&

[1] 1047

bash-2.05$

Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_font is NULL or not a fontset.

Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_font is NULL or not a fontset.

Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_font is NULL or not a fontset.

Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_font is NULL or not a fontset.

Segmentation Fault - core dumped

Any ideas how to fix this?

I get the same thing with moz1.7/Sol8.. except I only see the error msg twice, not four times.. I am using gtk+-1.2.10, glib-1.2.10, and libgcc-3.3.. I've installed the patch updates it complained about on startup.. I'm using the Sun-supplied build of mozilla-1.7.3 on mozilla.org.. are there more or different gnu software requirements I'm not aware of? should I be using the 2.x versions of gtk and glib? I can't seem to find a definitive answer to those questions anywhere.. any help, much thanks..

I had same problem which was solved by using the Forte compiled version of Gtk . You can get the gtk pack from mozilla at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.6/contrib/mozi lla-gtk-sparc.tar.gz. This also includes the required glib. I'm on sol8 so not sure if this pack is relevant to sol9?
