ping problem

hi ,i am not able to ping my cisco pix firewall from solaris 9 sun ultra 10 machine, while able to ping other machines/PC's.please help to solve this problem. also not able to ping a laptop when directly connected through cross cable

youre pix probably doesnt allow ICMP responses, most firewalls have an option to restrict thishcclnoodles at 2007-7-6 20:09:23 >

oh and with the laptops (im assuming theyre running Windows) make sure the windows firewall isnt on or that there is any other firewall software on the laptops .....this has happened to us many timeshcclnoodles at 2007-7-6 20:09:23 >
