cannot boot from dvd

Hi,

I have sun blade 1000 with Solaris 9 running on it. I am trying to install solaris 10 on it using a dvd. At the ok prompt

boot cdrom command gives me

Bad disk label

Bad magic number.

However I can see the contents of the dvd when I boot the machine from the disk with solaris 9 on it.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Hi,

Just check, if DVD-ROM and DVD are working fine. Next step is to check firmware of DVD drive. It should be latest one.

Just check this link:

Thanks

Bad burner. Reburn your dvd and check with the burning format. Something is wrong there. Make sure your driver is not wrongly mapped. probe your dev. maybe >>probe-scsi-allOf course, check firmware is positive move. Sorry miss that.Message was edited by:
