Maybe:1. Are you using x86 on old amd? Try interrupt during booting and enter the user mode to fix it.How:input>> b -s once you reboot.Message was edited by: mcd

I don't know exactly what mean (x86)

but I have windows xp and Solaris 10 for x86

and I have amd processor.

I try when my computer reboot pressed (b) and released it and pressed (-) and released it and pressed (s) and released finally I don't have any change or new window.

I need more explain :)

thank you.

Time to try and boot into single user mode (b -s on the boot screen iirc, seems docs.sun.com is down again so I'm a little limited with my resources) and after that re-configure your X environment. Best approach would be 'kdmconfig'.

I have the exact same problem.

my system hangs after solaris wants to start the "desktop login screen".

during the installation i had a problem that X or something couldnt start either. i had to use the console based installation (number 4.), with the standard interactive installation my system would hang after "discovering additional network devices".

i can use the failsafe option. i guess its something with X and my network card?
