Can i install and configure solaris 8 OS on a solaris 10 zone? If yes , is it supported by sun in case we run into any issues and is it a straight forward way of doing it or is there any implication.complexities involved in configuring so?Thanks in advance

I appreciate your response but i would like to know why i cant install sol 8 on a sol 10 zone?

Is it due to some constraints in the hardware or its the OS design issue?

We have a sun fire v490 with four 1.5ghz CPU's on which we are want to do the aboove mentioned thing.

Thanks

Have you actually read the zones documentation. zones do not add a new OS, they simply partition up the existing OS. What you want is called something else. Virtualization is not a zone.
