this means you or someone sent a break code to the os while it was running ( stop-A) or ~# instaed of #. to get to ALOMor someone typed in reset form the alom ( may be break cant remember)

I had a similar problem that has been driving me nuts for several weeks. The server would run all day just fine and I could connect at night too but when I would come into the office in the morning the OS was dead. Fans were running and all appeard well but no OS and the server was not pingable. I connect to the LOM from my laptop using a serial port connection and hyperterminal in Windows. It turns out when I insert my laptop into the docking station in the morning and turn it on it sends a break command over the serial port to the lom port killing the OS.
