Try this - I assume you are referencing the client? Well maybe not
open IE, select tools, select Java Console for the version number - should look similar to
Java Plug-in 1.5.0_05
Using JRE version 1.5.0_05 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Documents and Settings\Owner
