I am answering my onw question - I think.I just realized that I amy not have rebooted the system with a boot -r after increasing the pseudo-ttys in /etc/system.I will try that and let you know if it resoves the issue.

I rebooted with the -r option, but still having the same problem. It appears that the pseudo tty's were an issue, but still having a problem wtih this device not being present.

I totally removed the tta package and re-installed SGD. Apache and Tomcat are fine, it is just the SGD not starting.

Any ideas or hints?

Finally able to get into the Calssic Webtop. I ended up increasing the file descriptors and rebooting. I then totally removed the package again and installed again.

I get a java i/o exception if I select the first desctop login, but I fI select the classic webtop, I can at least log in and get the display page of the applications avaialble. When I select an application, I get a server timeout and the app does not start.

Now, I just need to figure what the issues are now and resolve them.
