SRA gateway instability (looses connection to portal server at random times
Hi,
Ever since JES2, we have been suffering stability problems on the SRA
gateway (actually this means since we first started using the SRA)
Since we upgraded our JES infrastructure to JES2005Q4, these problems have
persisted.
An example of the problems we face:
- the connection between the SRA and the portal server is suddenly
dropped, and i need to do a gateway stop - gateway start command on the
sra gateway to get it working again.
- Sometimes I've noticed with lsof that on the sra side, no process is
listening anymore on port 80 and 443.
- We also noticed that when the portal server is restarted (e.g. when
moving a resource group from one cluster node to another) we need to
restart the SRA gateway as well.
the problems are not load related, because the SRA gateway is hardly used
for the moment (because of its instability).
We have installed the SRA gateway on a sun intel server (V20Z) running
solaris 9 x86.
The portal server is running on Sun V440 - solaris 9 sparc.
Apparently, a unnamed consulting company that frequently works with these
JES components told our client that the default installation of the SRA
sets some default parameters that are bad default choices. It's supposed
to have something to do with cleaning parameters of some sort ... That's
all I have for information unfortunately.
While we were still on JES2, we had logged a call with Sun to solve these
problems, but we never got the problem sorted, and we closed the call as
we thought that the upgrade to JES4 might solve our problems.
I was just wondering if any of thse symptoms I've described here make some
sense to you and if you have possibly any useful feedback ?
regards,
Tom.
