Mails aren't received from an Isp

Last weekend we migrate from an exchange server to sun java messaging server 6.1.

Mainly is working great, but we have some mails that are not coming in.

The people from a particular ISP received this error:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at smtp-01.arnet.com.ar.

> I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following

addresses.

> This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

>

> <user@acasalud.com.ar>:

> Connected to XXX.XXX:XXX.XXX but connection died. (#4.4.2)

> I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long

This type of problem was not happing earlier so we think is a configuration of the sun java messaging server.

What could it be? Some "ident" lookup configuration in the mta?

The domain arnet.com.ar can not be resolve into an IP.

Thanks you very much,

Andr閟.

You should look in your Messaging Server's logs.

Some MS Exchange servers don't follow the RFC for smtp properly. That could be the problem. Other things could be the problem, too.

4.4.2 is a temporary error, a "timeout" error.

It's possible that the exchange server isn't waiting the correct timeout for the ack from Messaging. It's possible that it's ignoring it.

Check your log, and see if you can get the actual error.. What they're reporting to you isn't what our server said.
